Children’s Choice Book Awards

As part of Children’s Book Week, winners were announced today in the 2010 Children’s Choice Book Awards.


Lulu the Big Little Chick
by Paulette Bogan is the Book of the Year in the Kindergarten to 2nd grade category.


Lunch Lady and the Cyborg Substitute
by Jarret J. Krosoczka is the Book of the Year in the 3rd to 4th grade category.


Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Fabulous Life
by Rachel Russell is the Book of the Year in the 5th to 6th grade category.

The Children’s Choice Awards also honored an Illustrator of the Year, Peter Brown, for The Curious Garden.

Two young adult books were also popular with young voters.


Catching Fire
by Suzanne Collins (sequel to the popular The Hunger Games) is the Teen Choice Book of the Year.

James Patterson was honored as Author of the Year for Max: A Maximum Ride Novel.
