Before June 30, 1997 we lived in a world that knew nothing about Quidditch, Muggles, or a boy named Harry Potter. The incredible world created by J.K. Rowling is full of excitement, magic, and adventure. More than magic, these books show readers the power of good to triumph over evil and the true value of friendship and courage.
The Harry Potter books have inspired millions of devoted fans and converted countless reluctant readers. So many fans have waited in line for each book to arrive. The movies have inspired the same devotion.
In the spring of this year The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened in Orlando, Florida. Now fans can visit the world they have come to love.
This November part one of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows hits the theaters. If you haven’t read the books, now is the time. If you have read them, it’s time to revisit them and join us for a celebration of everything Hogwarts! Children in grades 4 to 8 can register to come to the library on November 11th from 2-3:30. Enjoy wizardly activities and sample food from the books. Dress as your favorite character and bring your wands!
