You may have seen a photographer at the library a few days ago, taking pictures of the “parks” where you can color, play a board game, or get your “Curious Reader” certificate. The photos and an article are now available on the Bolingbrook Patch website. Take a look!
As the article states, we are taking a break from our usual programming (weekly storytimes, Preschool Activity Time, etc.) while we get ready to move. The storytime room is completely full of packing boxes, and we are busily trying to fill them. The books, movies and such won’t be packed until the last minute, though, so you can still come in and check them out.
Starting this month, we will be providing a handout with activity suggestions instead of a Children’s Services Monthly Calendar. In December we are highlighting the drop-in activities in our “parks” (with an architect’s drawing of the children’s area in the new building), websites where you can listen to stories online, and our online reading clubs for the Monarch, Bluestem, and Rebecca Caudill awards.
You can also check the library’s online calendar for all-ages programs such as this Saturday’s family movie, A Christmas Story. The dates for library Outreach storytimes at Panera Bread are listed on this calendar, too. We plan to continue them in the new year.
