Tall Towers Jr. Children will have a blast building a variety of towers! This workshop promotes color and pattern recognition, fine motor skills coordination, and attention to instructions. 11 a.m. – noon at the library. Ages 2 – 5 years with adult. Limit 30. Register starting May 1.
Pablo Picasso At this art class using LEGOs, you’ll make a sculpture, then use math to calculate how to design a large-scale model of your creation! 1-2 p.m. at the library. Children must be entering grades 2-5. Limit 30 people. Register starting May 1.
Thursday, June 23: Here There Be Dragons! Experience the awesome magic of a wizard and the presence of dragons! What will happen when two kinds of magic come together? Magician Ron Clayton brings us a marvelous show. 2-2:45 at the Annerino Community Center, 201 Recreation Drive, Bolingbrook. All ages; drop in.
Tuesday, June 28: Jim Gill Join the popular performer Jim Gill for an active sing-along and clap-along with your friends and family! Jim plays his energetic banjo songs and we all sing, jump, clap and even sneeze along. 2-2:45 p.m. Central Park Pavilion behind the Annerino Community Center, 201 Recreation Drive, Bolingbrook. Wednesday, July 13: Joe the Juggler Joe the Juggler is the world’s greatest free-handed harmonica-playing juggler! You’ll see plenty of flying objects in this fast-paced, high-energy show with audience participation. 2-2:45 p.m. at the Annerino Community Center. All ages; drop in.
Wednesday, July 20: The Art of Falconry In the Middle Ages, people sometimes used falcons to help them hunt. These birds are raptors– birds of prey that capture other animals with their claws, or talons. Dressed in medieval costume, Cathy Blecker of Spring Valley Nature Center in Schaumburg will bring three raptors for us to see up close– but not too close! 2-3 p.m. James S. Thursday, July 21: How to Draw Medieval Stuff: Dragons, Castles, Knights and Royalty Art teacher Christine Thornton teaches how to draw medieval subject matter that kids love using a Power Point presentation, lively discussion, and extensive visual resources. 2-3:30 p.m. at the library. For teens and tweens entering grades 4-8, limit of 25 people. Register for this program beginning June 1.
Wednesday, July 27: Chris Fascione: Juggling Funny Stories! You’ll be laughing out loud as nationally known family entertainer Chris Fascione brings children’s stories to life with his high-spirited and innovative performances. Full of energy, humor and imagination, Chris creates colorful characters through his unique combination of acting, storytelling, comedy, and juggling. 2-2:45 p.m. Annerino Community Center.
