Horror as a Condiment

I heard a new program on the radio yesterday called NPR’s Back-Seat Book Club.  This special series is going to feature children’s books and authors.  They were kicking it off with an appropriately spooky selection, The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.  You can read or listen to the piece online at Kids’ Book Club: A ‘Graveyard’ Tour with Neil Gaiman.  If you haven’t read the book before, it’s beautifully written and has only a few absolutely terrifying moments.

If you prefer books without any horror, though, you can tune in next month when the show features The Phantom Tollbooth.  You can even send your questions to the author, and you might hear an answer on the air!
