February 16-22, 2014 is Engineering Week! The American Society of Civil Engineers celebrates how engineers make a difference in our world. Their website: http://www.discovere.org/our-programs/engineers-week brings engineering to life for kids, educators, and parents. Check out their website and let us get the children excited for engineering! The library’s Super Science Lab theme will be engineering in honor of Engineering Week! We will have a “Tallest Tower Contest,” learn how important civil engineering can be, and work in groups to design and build structures with simple materials.
Please join us Saturday, February 15, 2014 for Super Science Lab. The program is for children in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade and will be from 1:30 – 2:15 p.m. or 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. Registration is required. Please come to the Children’s Section or call 630-685-4181 to register.
Can your team build the tallest tower using only the materials shown on this table?
See you soon!
