The definition of hero:
“A person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.”
I have a daughter who suffers from a rare disorder called NF2 which causes painful tumors anywhere in the body and can cause disfigurement, deafness, blindness, paralysis and death. Every day I am inspired and encouraged by Ali and all those that face Neurofibromatosis with resilience, fortitude and bravery – yet still pursue their dreams and let nothing stop them from achieving their goals. So many heroes who do not let constant surgeries and in many cases, loss of function, interfere with their ambitious plans for a wonderful life.
You don’t need to wear a cape or possess a superpower to make the world a better place. To perform heroic acts, all you need is the willingness to make a sacrifice on the behalf of someone who is less fortunate in some way.
Heroes inspire, challenge and drive us. We all need heroes in our lives!
