Hidden Gems: Songs in Spanish

National Hispanic Heritage Month is a great time to check out some new music!  Here are five great children’s albums to sample:

Aqui Alla
Aqui, Alla performed by Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band
Their website has samples of wonderful music performed by these Latin Grammy winners.
School Library Journal called it “a fantastic children’s album… Entertaining for non-Spanish speakers and Spanish speakers alike.”

Arrorro mi nino
Arrorró mi niño: Latino lullabies and gentle games performed by Cecilia Esquivel and Patricia Vergara of Cantaré (from the award-winning book of songs selected and illustrated by Lulu Delacre)
Tim Wadham, who writes Libro por libro, says this “should be on every storytime playlist.”  It’s a collection of traditional rhymes and songs for young children from several Spanish-speaking countries.
