Remember asking the teacher, “Can we have class outside?” Sometimes the weather is so nice we want to have storytime outside! The Outreach Department will be offering Mobile Storytimes throughout the summer that let you stretch your legs and visit giant pages of a children’s book along a walking path in a local park.
Drop in (no registration necessary) at 10:00 on Monday morning. All ages are welcome, but preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult.
Pages from the featured book will be posted along the outdoor path at a different location each week:
June 6 features the book Oh, No! by Candace Fleming & Eric Rohmann
Please note this path is NOT stroller-friendly so this will be a moderate hike in the woods instead of a stroll.
June 20 features the book Some Bugs by Angela Diterlizzi.
June 27 features the book Muncha! Muncha! Muncha! by Candace Fleming
July 11 features the book Good Morning Yoga by Mariam Gates
As we read each page, we will also do storytime activities before we move on to the next page. The Bookmobile will be stationed near the start of the trail to facilitate mobile registration for the Summer Reading Program and to check-in for the Story Strolls. Those who attend will be able to count the hour of reading towards their SRP goal. In case of rain, the storytime will be cancelled.
