Join us during Spring Break week for movies, crafts, scavenger hunts and special programs celebrating life under the sea!

Make a Difference This Spring Break

Participate in the Students Rebuild Ocean Challenge all month by making undersea creatures. At the end of April, we will submit images of the projects you created. The Bezos Family Foundation will donate $2 for each object that Students Rebuild receives—up to $500,000—towards youth-focused, science-based programs aimed at developing a new generation of citizen-conservationists who can help restore the ocean to health.

As the Die Cuts: March Edition

Ellison March Blog 2019Attention teachers and youth leaders, the Children’s Services Department of Fountaindale Library has an Ellison Die Cut machine available for your use. All you have to do is provide the paper and the manpower. We can show you how to use the machine if you are unsure or a first-time user.

It’s finally here! After months of planning we are happy to announce our new Ellison Dies webpages are ready for your use! Please check-out our new webpage which includes new categories and pictures of each die. We have also updated our request form to make requesting those dies easier, with an auto-populate space. Just start typing what you are looking for and what we have available will appear.

St. Patrick’s Day is coming and spring is almost here. Let’s try to encourage the warmer weather by making flowers and bouquets. We have a shamrock, horseshoe, a rainbow and a cauldron which when combined with gold colored circles make a Pot-of-Gold. For spring we have all sorts of dies from flowers & butterflies to birds & insects.  You can search our dies using the library website search bar.

You can request any of our Ellison dies from our new page using our educator Ellison request form for use at the Children’s Services Department. Please allow 36 hours for your request to be ready.

As the Die Cuts: February 2019 Edition

February is known as the month of love and we are full of hearts and ideas to have your kids share their love with family and friends. In our collection we have three sizes of hearts XL, LG & TY to help you adorn our cards Flipper, Heart-fold, Pop-up, Tri-fold, and a Window style (all of these are XL dies) or make cards of your own. We also have tiny flowers & bears and a bookmark with hearts. We have George Washington and Abraham Lincoln dies you can request for President’s Day. Or make use of our Flag, Eagle head, USA or Maps of Illinois or United States dies. All of these are the large sized die (LG).

You can request any of our dies from our Teacher Services page using our educator Ellison request form for use at the Children’s Services Department. Please allow 36 hours for your request to be ready.
